Augmentum Donates a New Van to Tavolino Magico

Augmentum continues its long-term support of Tavolino Magico by donating a new refrigerated van, named Chicco II. This new vehicle is more than just a van, it is a real tool of solidarity. With its arrival, Tavolino Magico’s fleet grows to six vans, creating six concrete opportunities to turn rescued food into hope.

Every day, thanks to the support of donors and partners, Tavolino Magico carries out its mission of fighting food waste and supporting people in need. In 2025 alone, in Italian-speaking Switzerland, the association saved 1,100 tons of food from being discarded and redistributed it to those who needed it most.

Each week, Tavolino Magico supports around 3,300 people in Ticino through 18 distribution centres, a network of 21 social canteens, and the dedication of 370 volunteers. Their commitment transforms a simple act, saving surplus food, into meaningful, practical help for the community.

Working together is the only way to support the most vulnerable and tackle food waste effectively. In a country like Switzerland, around one third of all food is wasted every year, about 2.8 million tons, or roughly 330 kilograms per person.

Where others see waste, Tavolino Magico sees opportunity. Across Switzerland, the organization rescues around 34 tons of food every day, thanks to 7 logistics platforms, 168 distribution centres, and the work of 4,600 volunteers.

The commitment continues. In 2026, Tavolino Magico plans to open eight new distribution centres, including two in Ticino, expanding its reach and helping even more people while preventing good food from going to waste.
